Mumbai: The special POCSO court has sentenced 35 year old man to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a nine year old boy during the lockdown while the victim boy was returning from attending nature's call.
It is alleged that the victim’s mother went out for work, while her children - elder daughter and son were at home. It was further claimed that the family were using 'pay and use' public toilets which was near ro their house.
The victim had claimed that on July 17, 2020, as usual his mother left for work at 12 in the noon. At around 1 pm, the victim had been to public toilet. While returning the accused, who stayed near their house, took the boy in his house offering him a bicycle. The boy claimed that as they reached his house, the man sexually assaulted him and subjected him to unnatural sex. Upon returning, the boy narrated the incident to his elder sister, who later on informed their mother.
The family later confronted the accused, who confessed to the crime. Hence a case against him was lodged with Wadala TT police station.

The court based on the testimony of the boy, which was supported by the other evidences, held the man guilty of sexually assaulting the boy.
