Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 50-year-old man, lying unconscious on the road after feeling unwell, was run over by a car near Radisson Square under Khajrana police station limits on Tuesday evening.
The tragic incident occurred around 7:30 pm and was captured on CCTV, helping police in their efforts to identify the vehicle. The driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.
The deceased has been identified as Raju Tayde, a resident of Chikitsak Nagar, Lasudia. According to his family, Raju had been unwell and had gone out saying he was heading to the hospital.
“He had just returned from buying vegetables and told us he wasn’t feeling well,” said his son, Karan Tayde. “He likely felt dizzy on the way, sat down by the roadside, and fainted. While he was unconscious, a car ran over him.”
Raju, who worked as a scrap dealer, was rushed to the hospital but could not survive the injuries. Police said they are examining CCTV footage and working to trace the absconding driver.
Loading vehicle overturns in Banganga, one dead
In another incident on Tuesday, a 32-year-old man was killed after a loading vehicle overturned in the Banganga area.
The victim was identified as Gagan Yadav, a resident of Badal Ka Bhatta. Gagan had gone to Depalpur market to sell cattle and was returning when the vehicle overturned, leading to fatal injuries.
Auto driver killed in hit-and-run
A separate road tragedy occurred in the Raoji Bazar police station area, where a 51-year-old auto driver, Salim, was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle.
Salim, a resident of Madina Nagar, was on duty when the accident happened. The vehicle involved in the collision is yet to be traced.
