Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Led by its chairman and the divisional commissioner, Deepak Singh, the Indore Development Authority (IDA) Board of Directors met on Friday.

Several key decisions were taken at the meeting concerning the city’s infrastructure and urban planning. To ease parking woes in the city, the board approved the reservation of a 2.292-hectare plot in TPS-8 for parking under the new ISBT in Schemes No. 139 and 169-A.

The land will be developed with boundary walls, paver blocks, and toilet blocks. This decision follows demands by bus operators in a prior meeting convened by the IDA.

The board also granted administrative approval of Rs 5.5 crore to construct an auditorium and other facilities on government land near Maharani Laxmibai Postgraduate College, located in Ward 9 of Assembly Constituency No. 1.

Another significant decision was the approval of the lowest bidder’s rate for the digitisation of all IDA records. The project will involve an estimated expenditure of Rs 1.59 crore. A major agenda was the revision of city development plans under the Madhya Pradesh Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Act, 2019.

The board discussed the residential and road use proposals in schemes Ahilya Path AP-01 to AP-05, which were sent for review under Section 50(1). Following the state’s directive to review the plans with a 75-meter-wide road buffer on both sides of the proposed Town Planning Schemes (TPS), the board resolved to assess their feasibility.

A consultant from the IDA’s panel will be appointed for the study. Additionally, Plot No FP-422, measuring 1.613 hectares in TPS-08, was reserved for housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban 2.0. This land will provide housing for residents displaced from TPS-08 and TPS-03.
