Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Gusty winds at 47 kmph amidst cloudy weather swept Bhopal in the evening on Thursday. However, it did not rain. But alert has been issued for rain and thundershower with gusty winds in Bhopal and other cities in the next 24 hours. Wind speed was up to Rs 50 to 52 kmph in other parts like Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha districts, according to meteorological department officials.
A trough of easterlies runs from South Interior Karnataka to south-west Madhya Pradesh across the above cyclonic circulation over Marathwada region and Western disturbance are responsible for rain and thundershowers in Madhya Pradesh, according to meteorological department officials.
Alert has been issued for rain and thundershowers with gusty winds in districts like Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Badwani, Narsingpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Pandurna, Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Dindori, Umaria, Jabalpur, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Nivari.
At the temperature front, Bhopal recorded a day temperature of 36.4 degrees Celsius while it recorded a night temperature of 22.4 degrees Celsius. Indore recorded 37.2 degrees Celsius day temperature, while it recorded 23.2 degrees Celsius night temperature.
Narmadapuram recorded a highest day temperature of 40.2 degrees Celsius while Rajgarh recorded 13mm rainfall in the last 24 hours. According to the meteorological department, gusty winds with rain and thundershowers are likely in many districts.
Even hail is likely to lash many districts. Change in weather is attributed to a trough running from south interior Karnataka to south-west Madhya Pradesh across above cyclonic circulation over Marathwada and western disturbance are responsible for rain and thundershowers.
