New Delhi: Amid a show of strength by different political parties in Bihar, NDA is preparing a grand spectacle during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jhanjharpur, Madhubani, on April 24. The PM is scheduled to inaugurate several projects and address a public meeting.
JDU working president Sanjay Jha and Union minister Lalan Singh - along with Union minister Nityanand Rai, Bihar ministers and leaders from all NDA allies - are leading the initiative to assemble a large crowd at Modi's rally. On Tuesday, Jha addressed two meetings in Samastipur and Muzaffarpur along with Lalan Singh. Rai, Ramnath Thakur, Sitamarhi JDU MP Devesh Thakur, Samastipur LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Choudhary, state minister Ashok Choudhary, Nitin Navin and others were present at the meeting.
On Monday, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, during a Bihar Milan function in Haryana, had said that polls in the state will be fought under the leadership of BJP leader and deputy CM Samrat Choudhary. However, leaders from BJP and JDU clarified that Kumar is the leader and polls will be fought under his leadership.
Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar said in Patna: "Last time, when Amit Shah was here, he said Nitish Kumar will be the CM. My father is physically fit and active and he can run the government for another five years."
HAM leader and Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Monday said that his party wants to contest on 40 assembly seats and reiterated that he will be with NDA. BJP and JDU leaders told ET that seat-sharing will be discussed at the right time.
