The National Testing Agency ( NTA) on Monday released a public notice, asking all aspirants of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 to update their official documents before filling out the application form.
JEE Main is a national-level entrance examination for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions. It is also the qualifying exam for the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), which is the gateway to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

According to the notice, the JEE (Main) 2026 will be conducted in two sessions:

The NTA has urged students to ensure the following updates before applying:
Aadhaar Card: Details such as name, date of birth (as per Class 10 certificate), photograph, address, and father’s name should be accurate and up to date. Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card: For candidates under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category, the UDID card should be valid, updated, and renewed as per requirement. Category Certificate: Candidates applying under reserved categories including Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) must ensure their category certificates are valid and updated. The agency warned that discrepancies in documents could lead to grievances or rejection of applications at later stages. Candidates have been advised to regularly visit the NTA website nta.ac.in as well as jeemain.nta.nic.in for further updates, instructions, and notices regarding JEE (Main) 2026.
