Renowned Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, celebrated not just for his versatile acting talent but also for his quick wit, recently shared a comical revelation about his personal life—his children find him endlessly amusing, often laughing the hardest at his expense.
Speaking at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, the beloved actor lightened the mood with a candid and humorous account of how his own family rarely takes him seriously, no matter the situation. His remarks came during a featured talk titled The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler, where he reflected on his path in the industry and his deep connection with his three children—Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.
As the audience listened attentively, Khan shared, “People often ask whether it gets lonely at the peak of your career. To that, I’d simply say this—if you have the ability to make your kids laugh, you’ll never feel alone. And for those without children, the same goes for making your parents laugh. Laughter keeps loneliness away.”
The actor continued, admitting with a grin, “My kids find me hilarious. Even when I’m attempting to be stern or reprimand them, they end up laughing. I’m not sure they even take my scolding seriously.” He chuckled while adding, “I’m such a source of entertainment in my own home that even my efforts to discipline them turn into comedy routines. Whether I’m telling them to sleep by a certain time or asking them to follow rules, they respond like, ‘Oh wow, SRK is being serious!’ So honestly, I’m the resident comedian in my house.”
He also recalled jokingly that he had once tried to scold co-star Deepika Padukone on the set of Om Shanti Om, but even that attempt didn’t go as planned. “It’s like no one buys my serious face—not even on a film set,” he laughed.
WAVES 2025, a major four-day global summit, carries the slogan “Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries,” and is designed to spotlight India as a central player in the global media, entertainment, and digital industries. The summit welcomes visionaries, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and government officials from across the globe.
The event was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who called it a pivotal moment in the evolution of India’s cultural and creative sectors.
The summit kicked off on May 1 and is set to continue until May 4, drawing attention to India’s expanding influence in storytelling and digital innovation on a worldwide stage.
