Chennai Super Kings finally handed Dewald Brevis his first game of IPL 2025, and the youngster made an instant impression against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chepauk Stadium.
In a campaign where very little has gone right for CSK, Brevis brought a much-needed burst of energy at the top with a fearless 42 off 25 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The youngster, who was signed as the replacement for Gurjapneet Singh, made his way into the Chepauk Stadium with a 'Bahubali style' warm-up while entering the field at number five. The video has now gone viral on Social media.

Speaking after the match, both MS Dhoni and Stephen Fleming praised the youngster's impact.
"I thought Brevis was excellent today. We’ve tried to bolt things on all the time. Brevis has been refreshing," the CSK head coach said.
CSK have experimented with various combinations this season, having used 20 of their 27 squad members, but Brevis’ performance stood out for his intent.
‘Unwanted bonus’: Brevis’ opportunity comes amid CSK chaos
Brevis, who has long been touted as a future T20 star, was finally given his chance after sitting out in the previous game against the Mumbai Indians.
With the team trying everything to find the right balance, Brevis was one of many changes made against SRH.
During the press conference after the loss, Fleming admitted that such opportunities usually don’t arise in CSK, who rarely change the playing eleven.
"You don’t want it to come along. It’s an unwanted bonus," he said of handing new players a chance due to poor form and injuries.
With seven losses in nine games, their playoff hopes need a mathematical miracle. But in the midst of this chaos, Brevis offered a glimpse of what the future might hold for . Along with Ayush Mhatre, Brevis is likely to play for a long time in the yellow.
Meanwhile, CSK will return to action on April 30, where they will host Punjab Kings.
