Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], November 2 (ANI): The South Central Railway (SCR) on Saturday organized an 'Integrity Walkathon' as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 at Necklace Road Railway Station.
Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway, flagged off the rally. Senior Railway Officials, Sports Personnel, Scouts & Guides, Staff, and students participated in the program.
Speaking to ANI, SCR GM Arun Kumar Jain said, "We are observing a Vigilance Awareness Week to spread awareness about the vigilance. We should not enter into any corrupt practice. We should maintain integrity."
"This Vigilance Week is observed during the week in which Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday falls. Now, we are coming to the end of the Vigilance Awareness Week," Jain added.
He stated that the purpose of organizing a walkathon was to convey the message to the public about Vigilance Awareness Week.
"Today, we organized a walkathon. The purpose was that we could convey the message to the public also. We have involved students also. The students have come out with very good paintings, and through the paintings, they are trying to convey the message to the general public that we should maintain integrity," he added.
As per a government release, the Central Vigilance Commission has decided to observe this year's Vigilance Awareness Week from October 28 to November 3, with the following theme: "Culture of Integrity for a Nation's Prosperity." (ANI)
