Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], October 27 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday expressed grief over the death of five persons in a tragic road mishap that occurred yesterday night at Lachkandi near Barot of Mandi district.
Five people, including a 16-year-old, died after a car fell into a ravine in the Chauhar valley of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh
The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, stating that his thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and assuring them of all possible support.
Notably, the district authorities have provided immediate relief of Rs. 25000 each to the next of kin of the deceased.
"I am deeply saddened to hear the news of the untimely death of five people in a horrific road accident that took place at Lachkandi near Barot in Mandi district yesterday. I pray to God to grant peace to the departed souls and provide patience and strength to the bereaved families in this hour of grief. Om Shanti," Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu wrote in a post on X.
The incident reportedly took place on Saturday night, when the group was returning from a wedding ceremony.
One of the deceased was identified to be a 16-year-old, whereas the other four people were reportedly between 20-25 years old, according to Mandi Superintendent of Police, Sakshi Verma (ANI)
