Rohit Sharma announces Test retirement amid sacking rumours

Send Push

In a surprising development, Rohit Sharma has announced his immediate retirement from Test cricket. The decision follows reports that the 38-year-old had been removed as captain of the Test team ahead of India's upcoming tour of England, set to begin in June.

A key meeting was held in Mumbai on Tuesday, amid growing scrutiny over Rohit's recent form. His poor run with the bat during the Test series against New Zealand and Australia is said to have contributed to India's struggles, with the team losing six out of eight matches.
