The CBSE has released the final datesheet for the 10th and 12th examinations. The board exams will begin on February 17, 2026. Students can download the datesheet from the official website. When releasing the results for the 2025 examinations, the CBSE had stated that the 10th and 12th examinations in 2026 would begin on February 17, 2026. In 2026, the CBSE will conduct two board examinations for the 10th grade, as recommended in the National Education Policy. Based on the registration data for the 9th and 11th grades, the CBSE first released a preliminary tentative datesheet for the 2026 examinations on September 24, 146 days before the commencement of the examinations.
This was intended to allow all stakeholders to make their preparations accordingly. All schools have submitted their student lists, and the CBSE now has final data on subject combinations. Therefore, CBSE has prepared the datesheet for examinations starting February 17, 2026.
The following considerations were taken when preparing the datesheet:
Adequate gaps have been provided between the two subjects typically taken by students.
The dates of entrance examinations for Class 12 students have been taken into account.
An effort has been made to conclude board examinations well in advance of entrance examinations. This will help students better manage their time for both board and entrance examinations.
Teachers for all subjects will not be away from their schools simultaneously or for extended periods during evaluation.
The datesheet has been prepared keeping in mind over 40,000 subject combinations. This will ensure that examinations for two subjects proposed by a student do not fall on the same date.
Exams will begin at 10:30 am. This datesheet can be viewed and downloaded from the official website of CBSE www.cbse.gov.in.
