A "very special" documentary will celebrate the life of the late presenter later this year.
It was announced that Dave , aged 66, in February, less than two years after . The news was shared by his pal , now 58, who was part of the duo with Dave.
Si will further pay tribute to his late co-star and fellow chef in the upcoming documentary, the Hairy Bikers: You'll Never Ride Alone. As reported by PA, it will be shown just before on and will follow the 45,000 bikers that joined Si from to Dave's hometown of Barrow-in-Furness back in April this year.
During the one-off special, TV presenter Si will pick out moments from his 25-year career and friendship with Dave. The hour-long show will use archive footage, new interviews and unseen clips to celebrate Dave's life and his double act with Si.
Speaking about making the new documentary, Si said: "“It was a very special show to pull together. Full of nostalgia, laughs and celebration of my best friend and his life."
Andrew Mackenzie, the show's producer, said there had been an "outpouring of love" for Dave following his death. He said: "The outpouring of love for The Hairy Bikers this year has been extraordinary and it was a real honour for everyone who has worked with them to document Dave Day (the celebratory bike ride) and celebrate Si and Dave’s friendship over the past two decades."
During their time as the Hairy Bikers, Si and Dave hosted more than 30 series together, with the main premise of their work seeing them go on motorcycle journeys while stopping off to cook along the way. Dave's death came while the pair's last series, The Hairy Bikers Go West, was being aired, seeing them travel along the west of the UK from down to Devon.
Si previously paid tribute to his late pal Dave in a statement announcing his death in February, in which he shared that he would miss him "every day". He wrote in it: "All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. [...] Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can't follow."
He further commented at the time: "I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime. I wish you god's speed brother; you are and will remain a beacon in this . See you on the other side. Love ya."
