Valencia's Copa del Rey fixture against Parla Escuela has been postponed amid the flash flooding that has seen more than 60 people die in Spain.

They said: "Tonight’s Copa del Rey tie in Madrid against Parla Escuela has been postponed. The match has been rescheduled for next Wednesday November 6, at 7:00pm. Valencia CF deem this the most appropriate measure due to the terrible consequences of the #DANA weather phenomenon experienced in the Valencia region, recommendations to avoid travel and the cut-off in communication to Madrid."

In a further statement on X they added: "Valencia CF wants to convey his most sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of those who died due to the #DANA. RIP. Much strength to all the affected residents and communities and to the groups that are working on prevention and the consequences of the effects of the storm. The Club reiterates that we are available to the authorities and municipalities affected to help in any way possible."
Rescue services have used helicopters to air lift people from homes and cars with an emergency brigade of around 1,000 soldiers also deployed to help rescue efforts. People have also been warned supplies of drinking water may be affected by the rising tides, with rain expected to continue through to Thursday.
Carlos Mazón, president of the Generalitat, posted on X: "These are very difficult times for relatives and . In the next few hours we will confirm the number of victims, but right now it is still impossible to provide an exact figure. We are dismayed.
