Ruben Amorim's wife is sister of ex-Man Utd target as appointment edges closer

Manchester United is poised to welcome its sixth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in . The club is ready to embrace the 39-year-old his wife and two children as they aim to turn around their recent struggles.

Sporting confirmed interest in Amorim on Tuesday with an official statement. The Red Devils from his current contract and bring him to Manchester.

    Another footballing personality present at the ceremony was ex-Brazil international Luis Filipe, who is married to Maria's sister Ines Diogo. This certainly adds to Amorim's impressive footballing family.

    United are keen to have Amorim on board before their Premier League face-off with Chelsea this Sunday. Meanwhile, former Red Devils forward Ruud van Nistelrooy is expected to lead the team for their Carabao Cup match against Leicester on Wednesday evening.

    Sporting addressed the potential loss of their manager to United on Tuesday, stating: "Manchester United FC expressed an interest in hiring coach Ruben Amorim, with the board of directors of Sporting SAD referring to the terms and conditions set out in the employment contract in force between the company and the coach, specifically the respective termination clause and the amount of €10million.

    "Manchester United FC expressed an interest in paying Sporting SAD the amount of the aforementioned clause."
