The scale of the fallout of partner swap week will become clear in tonight's episode of Married at First Sight UK, with fans braced for what has been billed as the 'biggest blow' of the series.

In scenes that will air on Wednesday evening (October 30), tensions are running high after the experiment saw the couples separated and paired up with someone else, putting their relationships to the test. The move had a particularly negative impact on Polly and Adam, who had already been struggling with intimacy issues.

Polly was visibly distressed in the previous episode, which closed out with her in tears fleeing from Adam after he surprised her with a lingerie set he had picked while shopping with Amy. Meanwhile, Luke who is married to Amy described her as 'stiff' during his temporary pairing with Lacey.

In the preview for tonight's episode, multiple couples are set to reach breaking point, including Amy and Luke, who will come to blows following the comments he made about his wife behind her back. The situation is further escalated by a mysterious letter that brings fresh accusations, reports .

Amy's discontent is palpable during her debrief with Lacey, as she vents: "Him saying he wants me to be like you is f****** b*******." Later at the dinner table gathering, Amy blatantly challenges Luke, saying, "I just feel like a f****** idiot."

Luke is also set to face a grilling from his co-stars. In one scene, Sacha confronts Luke across the dining table, telling him: "I feel like you're a different person with different people," before accusing, "You kiss whoever's a*** is convenient at the time."

Elsewhere, Kristina, Polly, and Amy are seen in tears as Kieran questions his future with his partner.

"I'm risking losing one of the best women that I could ever wish for and that's one of the hardest things to admit to myself," he tells the group, adding: "Is this a friendship, or is this more?".

Moments later, the camera cuts to Kieran crouching in a corner and sobbing, glass in hand, in another dramatic scene.

This series of Married at First Sight UK has been swimming in controversy, racking up an astounding 860 Ofcom complaints. A single episode broadcast on October 21, which showed the end of the turbulent relationship between Richelle and her husband Orson, accounted for 340 of those grievances.

MAFS UK continues tonight at 9pm on E4
