Comedian Joel Dommett has called on readers to help who “genuinely changed his life”. The Masked Singer presenter, 39, presented Florrie with her Child of Courage award at the ’s Pride of Britain last Monday night, alongside judge Oti Mabuse.
The youngster, who is waiting for a lung transplant, made such an impression on the presenter that he told her: “You genuinely changed my life. You’re one of the most inspirational people I’ve ever met. There's not many people who are more likeable than , but you do that, Florrie!"

So far the fundraiser has garnered more than £115,000 with generous donations from readers and celebrities including former Dragon Duncan Bannatyne, who donated £30,000 at the Pride of Britain awards. Joel first met Florrie on This Morning and was very taken with her infectious positivity and gut-wrenching story. He told her: “It is great that you are showing people that optimism is so important, you're just so inspirational, honestly.”
The star invited her to visit the set of the Masked Singer before they met again on the Pride of Britain stage. Joel, who welcomed son Wilde with his partner Hannah Cooper last year, also felt that Florrie’s story affected him more because he had a child. “Her story hits so differently now I am a dad,” he says. “I think Florrie is one of the most incredible human beings I’ve ever met in my life. She’s fantastic. She’s taught me a lot. Her seemingly endless enthusiasm and thirst for life is hugely inspiring. Let’s all be more Florrie!”
Florrie won the Child of Courage award for her work raising awareness of cancer by posting adorable videos to her Be More Fab TikTok account, which has 164,400 followers. The youngster’s full name is Florence Ava Bark - her initials spell out ‘FAB’ - but she is fabulous by nature as well as name.

Also there to present her award was Oti Mabuse, 34, who was one of the judges for this year’s Pride of Britain. She says, “I cried seeing Florrie. I was on the judging panel and there was not a dry tear in the room. It’s her smile, her lust for life and her joy that makes you so emotional.” Oti, who also became a parent for the first time last year with husband Marius Lepure, went on to say: “As a parent, you want to protect your baby. It’s really tough and I empathise with Florrie’s mum.
"Florrie has faced more challenges than most of us can even imagine, but her spirit has always been unbreakable. Now, with her big heart, she’s turning those experiences into a force for good, helping others in ways that truly inspire.”
She added: “I’m so proud to support her journey, and I believe with all of us coming together, we can help her reach that incredible milestone of £1 million in donations. Let’s make it happen for this amazing young girl who’s changing lives!”
