However, there were glimpses of this exact type of performance in the first leg with the rest against Wolves allowing him plenty of time to recover and deliver another one.
On the opposite side, Pedro Porro was also imperious and Postecoglou's decision to name both, despite their recent inconsistencies while Spence has shined, was justified.
At the final whistle, the two full-backs were among the Tottenham players to celebrate passionately in the corner of the Deutsche Bank Park where their supporters were situated. Udogie also sent a clear message on before the semi-final first leg in just under two weeks.
Alongside a picture of him shouting with joy, he simply wrote: "BELIEVE!!! #blessed [hands together emoji]." Micky van de Ven, Solanke and Mikey Moore were among the Spurs players in the comments praising his display.
However, Spurs have seemingly no plans to sell with the 22-year-old part of the club's plans for the future.
