To begin, Victoria placed a large pot on her stove and filled it with water. She then filmed herself slicing one apple and one orange into rounds, as these are some of the fruits we most commonly associate with autumn.
Following this, she arranged a few sprigs of fresh rosemary next to her fruit rounds, along with two cinnamon sticks, three star anise pieces, and a teaspoon of whole cloves.
Victoria carefully organised her ingredients on the chopping board before dumping them into a pot of boiling water. She chucked in some vanilla extract and a sprinkle of ground nutmeg for flair.
While she didn’t give away how long she lets her tea brew, you could spot the steam as she poured it into a mug through a strainer. Posting to her followers, she raved: "These make my home smell so good, plus they taste amazing."
The simmer pot recipe has stirred up quite the buzz, with viewers itching to give it a go and chipping in with tips to ramp up the scent. One person said: "The flavour would be like a savoury hot apple cider, I can't wait to try it!" Another added: "Leave the lid off and let it simmer and your whole house will smell lovely."
Simmer pots were introduced by pagan cultures and were popular for welcoming new seasons and purifying homes of negative energy. These days, they can be enjoyed by anyone, but there are still some who believe they can bring good luck and protection to a home.
