Channel 4's hit show Four in a Bed left viewers gobsmacked as one duo revealed they slap a hefty £300-a-night price tag on their guest accommodation.
The much-loved daytime series, where bed and breakfast owners compete to be crowned the best, returned this Monday (October 28) with fresh-faced couples eager to impress. Lee and Emma were first up, opening the doors to their eye-catching Laurel Bank Hotel in Fife and hoping to wow their visitors.
Before the expected arrivals, the audience was introduced to Lee and Emma's competition and caught fleeting glimpses of the treats in store at their respective lodges. Nonetheless, it was Ashley and Winnie who ruffled feathers, disclosing their chalets came with the heart-stopping cost of £300 for an overnight stay.
Taken aback by the steep charge, disgruntled fans made a beeline for social media to air their grievances. One watcher complaied: "£300 for a pod a night? Extortion."
Another griped about value for money: "Them ones doing the pod for £300 not even supplying cheapie breaky hamper," reports . Meanwhile, others simply couldn't believe their ears: "How much? Did they say £300 a night?".
Confusion reigned for another, who reiterated: "£300 a night - did I hear right?".
B&B owners Lee and Emma definitely raised the bar on Monday's episode, leaving guests utterly gobsmacked with the surprisingly expansive and pristine rooms.
Attendees were equally captivated by the delectable cuisine, dishing out top marks for their efforts. Not missing a beat, Lee and Emma showed off a slice of Fife, treating their guests to an impressive Edwardian mansion tour, complete with its own lush green.
The duo scored big with viewers too, as cheers rang out from living rooms, one fan shared their two cents: "Overall I think this was a good value hotel, not a bad start."
Echoing the sentiment, another chimed in: "Place was nice and clean, brekkie was good. Early contender."
Four in a Bed airs Monday-Friday at 5pm on Channel 4.
